Underground and underwater labyrinths have been found with connections to 14 caves -- in Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico."There are stones, huge columns, and sculptures of priests in the caves", said Anda -- one of the archeologists in this discovery.
A lot of thought is placed on whether or not the Mayan mythology of the deads travel to Xibalba (afterlife) was before or after the creation of the labyrinths. For me its just real cool that this is an actual creation/thought. I loved the movie The Fountain which had some aspects based on the idealogies of the Mayans, and Xibalba (the picture on the right). The underworld entrances is what brings back my dreams and fantasies from childhood... lol -- I wish we built things like these still...!!
